You don't need great photos to sell a home. 

 Let's be honest here, you can sell a home with a photo that's taken with a smartphone. You can sell a home with a photo that's wobbly and poorly composed. If the home is competitively priced and well presented, then it will sell. It might take more than the average days on the market, but it will sell eventually.

"I only want to pay $150 for this"

"Don't all photography companies do basically the same thing"?

When it comes to choosing a real estate agent or company, there are many out there, and you get what you pay for. Some are better than others, and a really good agent is not going to be one of the cheapest. Photographers are exactly the same. 

There are cheaper photographers out there, but their focus will be on booking as many shoots per day as possible, to make up for the lower rate they charge. This leads to them rushing through a shoot, rushing through editing, results which can lead to very unhappy homeowners, and thereby unhappy agents (you). 

Others may be starting out in photography, and their rates are low to gain business, but their lack of experience shows through.
